CLASS I (SCORES NO POINTS!)

SOME NOTES ON THE XJS CHAMPIONSHIP SCORING SYSTEM

The points scoring is detailed in section 1.6 of the Toyo Tyres XJS Championship Regs 2007. It is worth bearing in mind the following however!

All points achieved will be halved if there are less than 3 starters in Class.

A starter is deemed as any car that is on the track when the 1 minute board is shown or is allowed to, and starts the race with permission of the Clerk of the Course. Last year it seems that a starter was a car that had achieved at least one race lap. The JEC consider that a starter is anyone who appears on the MST result sheet!

There are often errors on the results sheets regarding Class. For instance Kevin Doyle was listed as being in Class G but had asked to be in Class I in order to not influence the championship. If any of your details are incorrect on any of the paperwork please inform the organising club immediately.

If a driver changes car but not Class during the season his points scored all count. If they change Class at any stage the score is only attributed to that Class.

If the Championship scoring is important to you, it is worth adding up the points to make sure there are no mistakes. It can & does occasionaly happen on both this & the JEC site. Please let me know if you think your points, or anyone elses are incorrect.
