DUE TO THE VERY LOW NUMBERS IN PBJ THIS YEAR, WE WILL CONTINUE TO FEATURE PBJ, BUT WILL BE USING THIS PAGE TO REPORT ON OTHER RACES AT THE SAME MEETING WITH JAGUAR DRIVERS.
JAGUAR PBJ CHAMPIONSHIP
As far as PBJ entrants is concerned, this was a very poor effort! Regarding the racing, it was entertaining as ever! The number of Jaguar's racing was bolstered somewhat on Saturday with drivers from other series keen to have a second race with the "Sports Cars V's Saloons race, at a substantialy lower price than entering as a PBJ driver!
Allan Glover in the Luego Viento had a frustrating day on Saturday after qualifying second, but losing all his engine oil minutes before the race due to a broken oil cooler pipe. (I seem to recall this same thing happening to Andrew Harrison at Silverstone last year).
All of the Caterhams were substantially quicker than the fastest Jaguars!
Ken Paton won the PBJ on Saturday, with Lawrence Coppock second.
SATURDAY/SUNDAY RESULTS BELOW

Ken Paton's D Type (50) sports a new colour scheme for 2008, closely followed by Harry Wyndham in the blue E Type.
.
Pic1. A Canary yellow Caterham sandwiched between Brian George's X300 & Blake Humphries XJS during practice 2. Pic2 Allan Glover prepares to return to his winning ways in race 2.
Any pictures & stories relevent to this meeting would be most welcome.
It would appear that only two PBJ cars made the second race, with a total of 5 Jaguar powered cars making the start and 4 making it to the finish line!*
The race was cut short at 6 laps after only 8 minutes, Cliff Ryan was classified as a Non finisher. Allan Glover having sorted out his oil cooler took the PBJ win, and 16th overall with all but one Caterham's up front!

Although there were 9 Jaguar powered cars in race one, only 5 were listed as being PBJ cars. This can be a bit confusing as they are effectively in different races, and to add to the confusion there have been a number of errors on some of the results sheets (XJS for example). This means that you cannot necessarily rely on the accuracy of the information! In theory the PBJ classes are preceded by a J to differentiate between the two races.
Last year I brought this situation to Terry Dye's attention (JEC Committee), and he told me in no uncertain terms that most errors are due to incorrect information supplied by the competitors, and that it is their responsibility to correct them! Competitors please bring it to the organisers attention as soon as you notice any errors, whether it is your fault or not!
FUTURE CLASSICS
Five Jaguars made the practice session for Sundays race out of 21 entries. Chris Palmer & sideways Steve Avery were second fastest ahead of Stuart Jefcoate in a Porsche Carrera. Roger Bowman in another XJS qualified 3rd, with last years XJS driver Bruce Cologne-Brookes giving his Rover SD1 a blast and 4th on the grid!
Only 4 Jags were on the grid, minus Andy Earl's E Type. Unfortunately the SD1 failed to finish, but the good news was Palmer/Avery crossing the chequred flag first after 41 minutes & 28 laps! Martin Adams who was a front runner in 2007 finished 2nd 4 seconds behind. Roger Bowman had a good result finishing 5th.

Philip Comer on his 3rd race of the weekend, finishing 13th
Rumour has it that Steve Davis will be out with Future Classics after Brands Hatch?
