LISTER JAGUAR 4.0 LITRE XJ6 MORE PICTURES>>>>> GALLERY
Andrew's
Jaguar XJ6 is a genuine Lister conversion from a 3.6 L to a 4.0 L and it is
thought to be the only one in existence! Picture
is copyright see Ian's website for many more great pics
THE CAR
My car is a 1988 Jaguar XJ6. Originally it was a 3.6 litre car, but Lister have modified the engine increasing the engine size up to 4.0.
The car is a manual and was bought from John Arnold of Revival Motorsport who had re-sprayed the car Antigua Blue (the colour of the early Jaguar XK) and had also fitted a genuine T.W.R. bodykit. The car is also fitted with genuine Lister wheels. Overall, this car is very rare and is thought to be the only one in the existence in the world!

MY RACING CAREER SO FAR
In the 1980's I was a regular racer and usually finished in a respectable position, but when my son, Matthew was born in 1991, I hung up the overalls and spent more quality time with my new family.
I decided to start racing again in 2004. After campaigning a 420 Jaguar and a Series 11 XJ6, I thought the best car to race would be an XJ40 saloon.
So we purchased an automatic Jaguar XJR 3.6 also from 1988. The plan was to upgrade the engine to 4.0 litre and to fit a manual getrag 5-speed box. But then on a trakckday at Mallory Park, I noticed an XJ40 for sale, which was the car which I am now racing in.
.
MODIFICATION TO THE CAR
As the car came with a manual gearbox and a 4.0 litre engine this would be a far, far better car to race with. To race prepare the car we changed and fitted a few things, such as:
Fully adjustable GAZ shock absorbers, stiffened and lowered springs (specially made for the car), stripped some of the interior (mainly sound proofing and carpets), fitted 2 fire extinguishers (one fully plumbed in and on in the passenger footwell), fitted a battery cut off switch, had some competition brake pads made for the car and also soon to be fitted will be Racing Bucket Seats.
.
FUTURE HOPES & PLANS
I am the Dealer Principal at Hatfields Jaguar in Sheffield, which is the oldest Jaguar dealership in the world. My obsession with Jaguar's was inherited from my father who had a Mk11 Jaguar when I was boy.
My obsession has moved on to my son and he is hoping to be a racing driver. I would like him to take over my Racing car and to campaign it further and to make a name for himself.
I am hoping to race in the Jaguar Enthusiast's Saloon Series for as long as possible and for the car to gradually get better and better. I would also like my ability to drive the thing to get better aswell, as confidence lacks in me at this subject.
