Unfortunately the 2004-2008 season is still in progress, I will be doing the TTRS double header at Silverstone Grand Prix circuit in September. Nothing else planned so far. Do not click on the SOAP BOX link unless you actually want to read my insane ramblings on various subjects! Blame Ralph Hosier who inspired me to do it!!!
HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Having always loved cars and bikes, I was delighted when the wife bought me a "Racing Experience", at Silverstone. I was not so delighted however when I realised that I wasn't going out on the famous FI track, but driving a toy racing car around the "Stowe circuit".
I complained and asked for a refund, but the girl said that I'd have to write in, and may lose my money anyway. She went on to say that I really should give it a go, and that I'd really enjoy it! (Isn't it annoying how Women always think they know best!)
Reluctantly I decided to go for it. Now, from a spectators point of view these formula Ford single seaters looked pretty slow and boring. They're not! I had a great time, and posted the best lap time of my group by a fair bit!

THE FIRST RACE!
About 6 months later, and much sweat and tears, (& a little blood) I was lined up on the dummy grid at Lydden Hill, about to show the world what I could do in a race car (A V12 PRE HE automatic No.18).
I wasn't long into the practice session before I ended up on the grass having spun at devils elbow. That was the first time that I had lost control or spun a car, and I was somewhat surprised at how unaffected I was by it. The only thought was getting safely back on the track to salvage what I could of the remainder of the 15 minute session.
Not surprisingly I lined up on the starting grid later that day, last! I did start to catch up with the rest of the back markers, but then the engine started to misfire very badly. Although I ended the race, and had my first signature on my license, it was not exactly a dream start to my racing career, and quickly brought me back down to earth after the Silverstone outing. This Club racing isn't going to be so easy, these Guys are really trying!
WAITING
FOR THE LIGHTS TO GO OUT
The culprit of the misfire turned out to be all manner of nasty things and rust particles blocking the filter in the small fuel tank. This turned out to be a very common problem (why didn't anyone tell me before?).
Despite all this, I was hooked!
Donnington was my second race, and I soon realised that it is far more complex than Lydden! It would also have helped if I had studied the track before seeing how fast I could drive round it! It was a good race however with a good battle with Phil Taylor.
Brands Hatch was the last race of the 2003 season, and the V12 engine was now on its last legs. I ended up in the kitty litter during practice, and learnt another important lesson! If you concentrate too hard on the car in front, your likely to make the same mistake as they do. I did! The race itself was fairly uneventful for me, other than trying to avoid the numerous parts of broken Jaguar around the track!
It was now time for me to consider my options for 2004. A V12 engine was not one of them!

Things don't always workout the way you would like them to!
I will soon be adding another page, and on the Getting started page I will try and give some useful tips on some of the things that you must do, to avoid unnecessary failures, and un-competitiveness
