MALLORY PARK TRACK DAYS 2006

MALLORY PARK TRACK DAY / TEST DAY 12th OCTOBER

Wednesday 11th was a miserable day, rain, wind, and a fast looming long winter! Thursday the 12th however was a wonderful day, warm and sunny!

For many of the drivers from the 4 JEC race series, this was the last opportunity to stretch their cats legs before hibernation over the winter months. Amongst the track excursions were E types, XK's, XJs's & various Jaguar Saloons. There were also a couple of Mustangs, an MG, and a Ferrari.

Obviously on a track day, cars often have several different drivers, therefore appologies if I have named any of the wrong drivers in the following pics!

.

Pic1 Andrew Gardiner. Pic2 Mike Wilkinson's E type Move mouse over pic for alternative view.

Peter Dorlin's MK2

.

Pic1 Richard Dorlin's XJ6. Pic2 An MGB or is it a C? followed by Patrick Fellganhauer, an XK, and Powered By Jaguar championship winner Kevin Doyle's mean looking XJ12

Nice couple of red cars! Move mouse over pic for alternative view.

.

Pic1 Stewart Lydall fails to spot and negotiate the hairpin in time Pic2 Nice place to stop for a picnic and watch those nice Jaguar saloons circulating! Move mouse over pic for alternative view.

.

Pic1 Kevin Doyle. Pic2 No.46 receiving plenty of attention! Move mouse over pic for alternative view. No wonder Kevin wins every race with such an extensive pit crew!

.

JAGRACING Exclusive! Are these the first pics of the 2007 XJS Class G championship winning car?

During the lunch break period, all of the 4 Championship winning cars were driven around the track by their drivers and the other winners. A feature and pictures will appear in the January 2007 edition of JAGUAR WORLD MONTHLY.

More pics to follow!

MALLORY PARK TRACK DAY / TEST DAY 23rd MARCH

.

Excellent day for all racers and track day fans. First pic is of an XJS coupe closely followed by a cabriolet having successfully negotiated Devils elbow. (Can be quite disconcerting for the newcomer with steep downward gradient and varying cambers!) second picture is Sam Clarke's car showing virtually no body roll, where as the car behind looks as though the two nearside wheels are airborne!

The weather was brilliant, which further confirms the the power of my prayers! Most people had a good productive day, Stuart Ulph will be burning the midnight oil to cure some electrical problems before 1st April!

Gail Hill looking happy with the testing on her latest XJS race car. Toyo, & Gary Davis from Classic Spares all helped with assessing the setup of the car. Gail apparently achieved a marginally quicker lap than Gary! Next time it would be interesting to do the same thing in the Classic Spares car.!!!!!!
